Ingrown toenails are a painful condition that occur when a sharp corner of the toenail digs into the skin, mostly at the side of the toe, but can also occur at the end of a toe. Pain and also inflammation present at the site where the nail is curling into the skin. As the condition worsens, this site can begin to grow extra tissue (which is even more painful) and often drain a yellowish fluid. This is often accompanied by an unpleasant smell. Most commonly occurring in the big toes, but can occur in any toe. If left untreated it can have serious infection complications, interfering with your work and lifestyle.
